Don't you just love it when you come to your truck after the weekend and find it deader than a doornail?
Also I don't think that black staining from my APU exhaust is supposed to be there.

 

Looks to me like it needs a new air filter

 

It took multiple times to start and when it does it runs like crap and shuts off shortly after. When I drove through Great Bend on Friday some parts of the road were a little flooded but myself and four wheelers made it through fine. Surely it can't be that though.

 

I believe the air filter on a Carrier is under the motor behind that lower diamond plate cover...yours is harder to get to to inspect, but that much black soot means it is running really rich like it isn't getting enough air to breathe.

 

The bigger issue to me is why is the truck dead if the APU ran?

 

I don't think the APU actually ran. It probably tried to but didn't.

 

How deep was the water ?
