well leap frog is a children's game where you jump over one another and I use the same term to talk about trucks i pass and pass me up again and again over a stretch of miles. It may be something else your looking for i could be wrong.
pattyj Thanks this. -
That is precisely what i am talking about. I have been driving two months just learned about it today. Amazing how something can be happening constantly right under your nose and you're entirely oblivious to it.

That's a new one to me... Although we run fast here so normally when I come up on a truck within seconds his in my rear view... Maybe that's why?GenericUserName and Feedlebum Thank this.

It's actually brilliant. Truckers can be clever.

What is interesting is being on a 3 day haul and seeing the same truck or trucks in the same truck stops as you or passing you several times a day you kinda figure they are on a similar track and hours of service as you.

Well my trailer is usually incredibly light 10,000 lbs of product in a 53" . Usually it goes like this: a container guy, then an OTR guy blow my doors on flat ground or going downhill. I stay at speed limit and 2 miles later going uphill I overtake them easily. Same thing 10 miles later they blow my doors off I pass them going up the next steep grade. What they're doing is trying to make up time they lose on the hills, then speeding downhill to get a "run" at the next hill because they're running heavy.scottied67 Thanks this.
