Theres a difference between the 2? I always see drivers think the shop sucks, but i never see said driver trying to work in a shop. I dont know anything about the mechanical side, so im not gonna pretend to know how it all works.

    I don't need to be a chef to know if a restaurant's chef can't cook. ;)

Any of those companies that had Maxxforce powered Prostars had nothing but problems. I worked for Crete 10 years, the last 2.5 I was in 3 different Prostars that couldn't pass a shop without something needing fixed. Notice how Crete has been drastically decreasing their numbers of Internationals and increasing their Cascasia fleet...they got sick of the problems like everyone else that owned them.

I owned my own truck and worked on it...earned my CDL working for a chicken plant's live haul repair shop...Poly's shop sucks, bottom line. When your truck comes out with more problems than it went in with, there is a serious issue with competence

They are going overboard if that is the only reason. The last 5 or 6 months I was there, shipping was anywhere between 6 and 24 hours behind, especially on the weekend. They may be just partially adjusting the times so that they cover the shipping's shortfalls as well. Once they get the e-log fully implemented, and everyone adapts or the ones that can't adapt quit, then they'll realize it isn't that big of a hindrance.

I certainly do what is necessary to get the job done on my terms and make me the most money without doing anything dangerous. I really don't give a #### about laws that don't make any sense and feel no obligation to abide by them. I will certainly get reamed in the ### if there is ever any significant #### go down but I will take those odds and fully accept the consequences of violating government policies. I can assure you that elogs will SIGNIFICANTLY affect my income in the neighborhood of 10K dollars or more a year. There are ways to short circuit the extra time on loads on most occasions by putting yourself on the board an extra day early and 900ering your current load, that takes out the extra 24 hours on the load.

The shop is the shop. I guess I have been fortunate and not had any really bad problems with my truck and when I did I just got back to a terminal and jumped into a loaner and kept making money. Just be proactive and do what you have to do to keep the wheels turning.

I know the history on the Maxxforce, but there are numerous companies that have an all Prostar fleet that do not have the issues Poly has.

Most have the same Cummins that all the other makes have. Addionally, Poly has plenty of Cummins powered trucks.

I stand by what I said. It ain't the trucks. It's that sorry excuse of a shop and Poly's failure to acknowledge it and fix it that's the problem.

You answered the question about the shop with the MAXXFORCE quote above. I talked to a technician 1 weekend, and got a ballpark figure of what they make. You can blame upper management for not wanting to pay the right guys to be in there.

    28 Thanks this.

Does Poly let you bring a small dog on the truck?
