I'm assuming that they want all their maintenence done in-house? Seems like a lot of the shop horror stories could be alleviated by a TA/Petro, Loves, Speedco, etc if they didn't, right?

Possibly but Poly is set in its ways. It's easier to just go with the flow when it comes to the shop.

Poly only had 1 year of APUs (dynasys) in the Prostar era. Everything else is EPU, as in Electric Power Unit. (Battery powered a/c with diesel fueled bunk heater). That's the only thing I liked about the Maxxfarce powered Prostar I had there...the a/c did a decent job keeping it cool as long as I kept the insulated window shades up and the curtains pulled shut. The bunk heater was the water heater type, not the airtronics air heater. Put out a more even warmth thru the trucks heater core rather than a seperate duct.

and those are 579's I do believe. Wider cabs than the old style Pete, but depending on how it's spec'd, less storge than the single bunk Prostars, but more than Poly's old 33## double bunk that had the aftermarket junk a/c setup on the back wall(can't remember the name of it). All in all not a bad truck...not as high quality of Petes of the past, but waaaaaaay better than any International

    ArmyGuy Thanks this.

EPU are just electric ac/heat units.

    Those are wide body Petes.

Solution is to keep a form of personal
transportation there in GP . Drop your
truck off and take a break.

We have people that live as far away as
Ohio , Ga and the Carolinas that exercise
    this option .

That shop is the #1 reason drivers quit Poly

What is their policy on snow/chaining up? Do they insist on getting the load delivered, or are they ok with drivers choosing whether or not to drive thru poor conditions?
