That sucks... there must be a reason because poly is definitely hiring and you see re hires all the time.

lol jk man, but I dont know. right now they definitely want drivers. new trucks already showing up so new hires will most likely getting the Pete's here pretty soon. way better than a 2012 international.

Same old same old at poly.
Moved into a new international last week and i like it. The peterbilt would have been the better tractor but the new internationals have a better transmission and rear end so that makes it the better tractor in my opinion.

Ive seen quite a few drivers quit recently and not exactly sure why. Most seem to say theres to much sitting. At poly a lot of the responsibility to keep moving is on the driver and i think some struggle with that. I have had to change some things on how i like to run due to the new plant or our lanes that we run changing . That being said i made 72-73k with poly in 2018 which is the best ive done in the 4 years at the company.

Poly is paying 56 cpm on the hub now and like i said they finally have updated equipment. Thats about all thats been going on.

Was thinking the same thing. Back in the mid-2000s a bunch of us at Marten were routinely grossing over $70k at a cpm of $.43/Rand McNally. Marten was a finely-tuned miles machine back then. Their accessorial pay was decent too, but who cares about accessorial when you're getting $.56/hub, not to mention a whopping 10% OOR allowance. It just doesn't get any sweeter than that for a company driver in the truckload sector. Pretty sure I'd easily be pulling in $80k+ if I was still at Poly.

    $ 72,495 = 134,250 K miles per year @ .54

    11,187 mile per month

    2796 miles per week

399 per day within a 7 day period

    ( .56 just started March 1st )

    Actually, it’s 133,333 miles at .54.

.54 x 133,333.33 = $72,000, which is better. He worked less and got more than most of the OTR guys on here.

That said, who cares? That’s his business and if he’s happy, power to him. I make $65k and I’m happy as a Lark on fresh spring day. I work 50 hours a week on avg, and I’m home every night. And, I love where I work.

Generally speaking, I’ve found chasing dollar signs isn’t a very happy life style. The better way is not have any debt, which creates financial freedom far faster than chasing dollars.

    :biggrin_1square:

    :yes2557:

I don't come close to the miles these folks post here at TTR ... but I'm all paid up
... so no worries ....Poly's never complained about my performance ,
    so I assume everything's ok . :dontknow:

As far as people quitting at Poly , I must say that's one thing I've learned is stay
by myself and away from others if I can help it , too many unhappy people here . :(
