Hello everybody hope everyone's doing great. I see truckers with wireless Bluetooth headsets all the time. Is that for their personal use to communicate with their friends and family or is it something that the trucking company makes them wear to communicate with them?

Huge fines for CDL holders using a mobile device. It's a necessity nowadays.

I use a 'Blue Parrot' , voice quality is excellent.

That's always something I asked any driving job. Do you expect your drivers to answer calls while driving and how often? Tells you a ton about how they operate. There is zero reason to bother the driver like a cabbie from the 90s with computers in the vehicles. I don't trust people that use phones. Put it in writing or on video. No he said she said or going whhhaattttt.

If they say yes I would immediately hang up or leave. The last one that tried that lied about it so when their vehicle broke down I made sure to use their unemployment insurance. Fully. This was before I got my CDL. When I had my CDL pretty much every place left me alone unless it was local like ups but that was usually a how many stops you have left and want to help out this slow guy type deal.

    Good question.

Honestly, I'd rather help a guy like this than someone who comes here after "a couple of minor accidents" or "a ticket for using a handheld device while driving" or getting fired because "the company is trying to screw him."
