that was the cue for the PRIME recruiter to interrupt and say he had the perfect company to drive for...
loose_leafs Thanks this. -
You're reading this situation wrong. The driver DID sign a contract, so the company is allowed legal recourse to come after that driver for monies they are owed. But they're not allowed to contact another potential employer and threaten them into not hiring the driver. The driver knows the financial ramifications of their actions, but they're allowed to leave if they choose.nredfor88, bumper Jack, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this.

This is akin to those hilarious do-not-compete agreements companies are forcing drivers to sign. Do-not-compete? Those are for industries that have trade secrets. Do you have a special way you tarp a load or pour fuel in the tank? What's the trade secret you're protecting? Lmfao

Yeah no I'd give up driving for good before I went to work for that outfit.
Lease purchase driver facing cams required they control miles and charge you for driving their truck under forced dispatch lol.
Sounds like a nightmare from hellJoeyJunk, bumper Jack, Gearjammin' Penguin and 3 others Thank this. -
Pure BS, too many typos to be from a legit lawyer.

Agreed, IF The company is paying everything they advertise that they are going to pay these drivers. I have found they do not. Any type of accessory pay they try to weasel out of. At least the three companies I’ve been with so far all do it. And they all do it under direct coordinated effort from the higher ups. One of these days you want to talk about a lawsuit, that’s gonna come with seven zeros at the end of it. These companies have no idea how vulnerable they’re making themselves when they systematically and purposely mislead drivers to come work for them and then the only thing they wanna pay is miles.

That's probably the exception. Not the norm. Heck Stevens even called me one time saying you didn't submit for detention pay and from the bol your due it. On top of that. They forgave my balance for school. When I got sick. My experience might not be the norm. Maybe my company is a better class act.Lennythedriver Thanks this.

Yeah, I’m facing reality I might need to look elsewhere. It just irks me. I’ve gotten paid three times detention and or layover pay since I’ve been with the company I’m at for a year and a half. And each of the three times? I had to literally make them think I was cleaning my truck out and quitting to get them to pay it. And trust me I’m not the type of person who likes to get in that mental state. I don’t like getting worked up like that.Wasted Thyme Thanks this.

I am the one that received this letter and just want to clarify a few things.
I had no intent on hiring this driver. I work for a driving school and was asking about his employment as part of my job in the Placement Department.
The driver already had his CDL. He was not being trained by Hirschbach for CDL school but is part of their training program for new graduates. The cost is $7,000 which he does not have to pay back upon completion of a 4 month program.bumper Jack Thanks this.
