I haven't started but I will keep this thread in mind when i go to these shippers. If someone gives me #### i will just act like i'm in the military keep a straight face and not say a word. They can curse and yell it don't matter because in reality i can curse and yell pretty #### loud so that doesn't phase me. There's a guy on youtube called jbg travels he goes everywhere with a camera on his hat recording.

street beater and Lepton1 Thank this. -
These people need a banana peeling thrown in their path or better yet gorilla strength glue put on their chair the next time they sit down...um oopps...just kidding but some of them can be real fools...my company hits them with detention, I'd rather be rolling but at least get something for their stupidity...

I gave up pulling van/reefer freight. Most customers were okay, but I met some of the most horrible humans I ever thought could exist making pick ups and deliveries.
Pull a tank now and deal with same shipper and receiver weekly, both are wonderful people that I feel fortunate to know.
Prior to this dedicated account I pulled lubricants. Same shipper but different customers. They all seemed like a better class of people overall as compared to some of the dip**** forklift drivers are worthless Wal Mart employees I had the misfortune of dealing with over the years. -
I always try to keep a positive attitude.
But a good 70% of receivers are miserable, 10% are arseholes, and 20% are kind of pleasant. I think it has to do with being tied to a warehouse, dock, store all day...everyday.
I know I couldn't do it. So, I just smile and plug on.
Sometimes though, they'll surprise me. I got to my last receiver late. The warehouse guy said I could drop my trailer at the dock and bob to the truck stop 2 miles away then just come back at 5:00 am. Just volunteered it. I didn't even have to ask.
So I PC'd to the TS. I'll PC back in the morning and I don't have to start my clock until I'm unloaded and ready to head toward the shipper. Puts me that much closer to home. -
It's insecurity and hypersensitivity.
Contrary to what you're trying to imply here, rudeness is NOT always race based. Sometimes, people are just jerks. That is all. -
For example, dress like you have a job to do and a purpose in life. Respect is earned, not given, amd if you can't even do that, then you certainly haven't earned my respect yet.
I personally would have to lean toward the theories of a few here in that some jerks at these places act the way they do because they're just tired of seeing allegedly "professional" drivers show up wearing what they'd lounge around the house in.driverdriver, justnumber1 and pattyj Thank this. -
Man up like I did, your only 2yr younger than me. Doing food service fresh outta driving school with my co driver we had a sleeper cascadia and a 48 going to deliver in nyc on 33rd and 5th ave (empire st bldg) Parked on 33rd, actually double parked at 8am morning rush hr and shut 33rd st down. That was stressful as hell only being 21 and new to the city. I just ignored EVERYONE YELLING at us. Told meter cop write as many tickets as you need, I don't pay em. Or deliver east harlem 2am and washington heights, or Jamaica or mott haven. oh yea I always had the blade out
