I'm payed well enough for it not to be a big deal one way or the other. Still, 12 pizzas is too much for me, so I'm bringing it to the office to share.

I've seen office people sneaking those returns out to their cars. After seeing that, I declared war on pencil pushers! Not really, but I love pizza and those frozen ones will last for years.
One receiver demanded I take back a case of my favorite coffee, even though only the cardboard box had a hole in it. I said, "OK." I didn't write it up, so there was no record of it being refused. Delicious!

1981 I had a full load of cool whip...
1 week before thanksgiving and they ordered too much.
Ended up with 4 pallets they couldn't fit anywhere.
Shipper had no place for me to take it and didnt want to pay to have it hauled back.
So they said get rid of it however I saw fit.

Deadheaded 250 miles home and took 1 pallet to a food pantry, and the neighborhood got the rest.
Scored a bunch of homemade pies from the ladies in the neighborhood......win!!!!!

Watched a guy at Kinly, NC Petro unloading about 2 pallets of yoghurt into a dumpster last week.

Then the TV tells me hunger is an issue in the USA.

    Disconnect - I tell ya.

Hunger is a problem, but the other side is food safety. It's better to be hungry and healthy than less hungry and ill/dead.

Awww come on man - you’ve seen good food go in a dumpster for stupid reasons - you know this industry.

Hungry and healthy is an oxymoron.

Was at a grocery warehouse one time and saw them fill a dumpster completely full of cases of candy, like this:
I put several cases in my sleeper until there was barely room to sleep. Took it home and used it for gifts. This was in the wee hours of the morning when still dark outside. If they had seen me take it, would have had me fired for stealing.
Guy in the warehouse said they ordered too much, so they take one case off each pallet and give to a food bank, then the rest goes into the dumpster. Then they get a tax write-off as if they gave all of it to the food bank.

Reminds me of the quote: "The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing"
