That’s actually not a bad idea.

Under the training and guidance of a good driver, a sensible kid could make a good hand and get experience well before intrastate and interstate requirements.

That definitely sounds like something I could get into. Any way I could find farms that need that type of work done?

The military draft solved problems like that, but that's gone now. Still have to register, but won't be drafted.

You'd be better off going to servicing equipment than driving it. Less government interference in your personal life, better pay, better hours and after you get good transitioning into your own service business is easy. Much money to be made as a good tech with a lot less competition.

What I went to CDL school about seven years ago, there was a 19-year-old kid that we thought was just anointed by God himself because he breezed through every drill; could back the truck in on a dime and basically did everything perfectly. Right out of the gate. We’d always ask him how he did this or how he did that so perfectly. One day he got this big grin on his face and he said he had been driving tractor trailers on his grandpa‘s farm since he was 12 years old and backing them into tight spots. Lol He made a think for about a month. He was just a natural. The kid was good, he did the classroom work very well also. I’m sure he’s out there driving someplace now.

I was part of the draft. Vietnam. Back then, either register for the draft or you go to jail. I had the military come to my house. I forgot the register. He says you got a week we come back and go to jail.
He pulled up in front of my house, came up to me and hand me a letter and told me that . when he left, I looked over the truck there and he left the door open. It was a German Shepherd sitting in the front seat.
The young generation now that’s selective service ,we were the draft. They called it a freaking lottery. I hated the government for it since then I never voted. I don’t vote.

My first driving job was at 18…Mid America Entertainment Co. The company would set up rings for boxing and wrestling and big stages for giant outdoor concerts. I drove a straight truck and setup chairs and tables and stuff for big parties at wealthy folks’ homes.

But OP, trying to create a hustle…I’m thinking old 1ton diesel flatbed pickemup. I think Arkansas , I think logging. I can think of the truck, but I can’t think of the hustle to create with the truck. When I think of the ultimate Mack daddy hustling baller from a young age, I think of @Ruthless.

How about a 4x4 off road one stop service truck that concentrates mainly on tires and on site welding repairs?

I was a volunteer, even though was registered for the draft.
Some of my high school friends, at graduation, went to the draft board office, Selective Service, and volunteered to be drafted. The reason, being drafted only required, if I remember correctly, active duty for 12 or 18 months and most voluntary enlistments at a recruiting office was 4 years.
I signed up through a recruiting office because I wanted to be sure of being in the Navy.
My buddy that went through the draft board was drafted into the Navy, where most were put into the Army.
