    Wife’s a nurse in about a year.

Contemplating on hanging up my keys once she’s settled. Starting to get mentally draining stop-by-stop.

I don’t blame you. My wife is going back to work since my kids are getting older which will allow me to do something else if I want. I have been thinking HARD about it lately and been looking into IT certifications.

    McUzi and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Man that's gotta be pretty wild to walk away from all that you've endured to get to where you're at.

LTL feels like a distant past for me now. I see them passing me from time to time and part of me is relieved I've found something easier.

I initially thought it was gonna be a hiring bonanza after Holland collapsed. But what ended up happening in my area is that the accounts that were picked up by the competitors ended up just backfilling their own shortages. Things are just that dead.

My new job hauling concrete is also coming down fast. We were doing 60+ hour work weeks but things have fallen off down to 45 hours. There is nothing for us to do despite all these subdivisions going up. I think the worst part of all this downtime is I got way too much time to think about how I am only doing this cause it keeps the lights on and the kids fed.

Like I am legit waiting on my daughter to start school in a few years so my wife can go back to work and I can go find something else to do. I really also want to get out of the transportation field altogether as well. I am thinking of doing a German inspired food truck.

I already thought of a fantastic name. "Schnitzel Hut. Were we beat our own meat!". The last part is the tagline to give a headnod to the labour intensive process of flattening and tenderizing each fillet with a mallet. Schnitzel is a technique, not a dish.

Anyway, if you ever find yourself in SC and eventually see my Schnitzel Hut food truck, order with your TTR screen name and your dish is on me.

...assuming I can get out of this cement truck first.

You and McUzi might have put something on my mind. Especially if it will make you consider leaving the brown.

    LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

I'd feel better paying full price, doing my part to support small business.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.
