All right so I'm working with scheduling on my company right now and they pay about $22 an hour for detention I know that's not great but it's better to kick the ### anyway my issue is that my dispatcher schedules loads to I either have about an hour and a half to get to a 2-hour location or I have about 15 hours to get to some place that's 5 hours down the road and there's no in between he keeps claiming all that's the best I can do but the problem is with his scheduling I get paid attention an hour and a half after my schedule time so they don't have to pay me anything while sitting there for 7 or 8 hours.
I feel like I'm getting screwed here

Do you try to get it delivered early ?
I usually had decent luck with produce and sometimes with cold storage.
Also as how freight is lately, if you are staying somewhat busy... Then ride it out- things are kinda slowdrvrtech77, ducnut and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Buy your dispatch a map, or show them goodle maps or I -maps. Show them how to use it. Maybe give them some examples and maybe even a test at the end!
Sorry but some questions don't have intelligent answers. Tell them the time you need, don't ask how much time you haveaustinmike and kylefitzy Thank this. -
If you’re at a small outfit, then the spot market way of running is the issue. Find somewhere with some more 24/7 drop and hooks. Spot market isn’t very forgiving at the moment, so companies are taking what they can get

I have refused Loads simply because of TIME Constraints/Restraints.
I was 1 of 2 drivers for PTL through a leased on Owner Op. That was somewhere in the 2000 decade.
I "shuttled" MANY loads to Teams and I as well got some extra "off duty" time. The other driver fared about as well and in fact departed before I.
I went thru a few Dispatchers and had a few "conversations in person" at PTL HQ, Murray, KY.
I lasted about 6 months but went to some FUN Locations without Snow.
When one cannot perform the acrobatics, one need have a "chat" with Dispatch, minus Insults and Profanity at least in typed conversations.
Phone conversations may or not have restrictions.
One Cannot Do What One Cannot Do Regardless of ability.
For those that still use C.B.'s, it's impossible to know what lies ahead as we've read (and will continue to read) MANY REPORTS of Multiple WRECKS on Multiples of Roads/Highways/Byways.
Do what YOU HAVE TO DO To Secure Your Future.
Thanks Be To You for Your Time.
