I was in the Army when I was in my 20’s and I’ve lived on 4.5 - 6 hrs of sleep a day for almost 20 years.

The past 2 years I’ve started getting 6.5 - 8 hrs a night. So I dont care about any psychologist or what they say. I grab a 10-15 minute power nap and I’m good the rest of the night.

That's totally illogical. First, I said that studies conducted by psychologists have unanimously found that a person needs AT LEAST two hours of sleep per night to function properly. Then you said that you lived on 4.5-6 hours of sleep a day for almost 20 years. You say that you grab a 10-15 minute power nap, and you're good for the night. You imply that this refutes what I've said.

Are you kidding me? I'm saying that a 10-15 minute power nap won't help someone on a major sleep deficit. You said yourself that when you were in the army, you lived on 4.5-6 hours of sleep a day for 20 years. lol that doesn't refute what I said. For your experience in the Army to refute my position, you would have had to live on 30 minutes or less power naps for 24 hours per day. You said that you slept 4.5-6 hours a day. That is FAR longer than a 10-15 minute power nap.

Nobody in the Army lives only on 30 minute or less power naps. The only way to cure a MAJOR SLEEP DEFICIT (as opposed to just being tired because your circadian clock is producing melatonin because it is nighttime) is to sleep for 2+ hours.

Show me a person who says that he lives on a 30 minute or less power nap every day for weeks or longer without sleeping for 2+ hours in 24 hour time period , and I will show you a liar.

Why does DOT mandate a ten hour break instead of only relying on the 30 minute DOT break only? Because I am right.

Show me in the FMSCA handbook where it requires you to sleep a minimum or maximum amount of hours per day.

Interesting back and forth. Reminds me of my days at Reddaway where our driver shortage caused us to be "in on our ten". They legit wanted us in early enough to swipe in once we hit 10 hours and 1 minute on "off" status.

I got into it with my senior driver that ran this ####-show after three months straight of working 14 on 10 off, and he said "I only need 4 hours of sleep".

My response was that I was fluent in four languages. He kinda looked at me and said "what the hell does that have to do with anything?"

Yeah, exactly. The amount of sleep you need for proper rest has nothing to do with the amount I need.
