I have a buddy that runs flat bed in the Midwest for Mercer. He has been pleased. They seem like one of the better large companies for flat bed anyway. That’s about the extent of my knowledge, more knowledgeable people are on the way...

It is one of the very few that has a program I would work with. probably would be in the top 2 or 3 for my liking.
Like landstar, you have to run your own business, they do not run it for you.

I have been at Mercer for almost three years and am very happy. They keep me running, save me money with their fuel discounts, national tire accounts and insurance. You have the option of booking your own loads through the Mercer load board or using a coordinator. They get you home when you want to get home and won't bother you while at home until you are ready to look for a load.

I've been here at mercer for almost 4yrs. Leasing to mercer is one of the best things I've done in reference to trucking. They allow u to run your business the way u want, and won't pressure you to take a load you dont want. You will get a coordinator to help you run your business the way you see fit. You can have them run your truck for you or you can use them as I do, which is like a tool to keep a look out for freight when you may be away from your phone (tarping, loading, etc..)..the only complaint I have about mercer is the way detention pay is payed, other than that it's great

Before I came over I did a ton of research. Go to the "mercer" thread and read that (took me almost 2 wks but it was worth it) also check out the "why do some fail at mercer" thread. I also read all the negative threads about mercer and you'll quickly realize that most of the negative stuff about mercer are from the same handful of ppl. Like all companies, mercer isn't the right fit for everybody, so look deep before you leap and good luck
