This is impressive. And a great video. Of course most truckers are against it but 20 years ago people laughed at the idea that an electric car would run 300 miles AND be able to beat a Porsche to the next stoplight. There are so many people in the world I'd love to go on a Tesla (car) test drive with.

Anyway, the question is infrastructure. No way our dysfunctional guvment will make the infrastructure to charge these the norm in my lifetime (for long haul) but I still think it's cool.

    I'd drive one.....if it wasn't white.

Why do electric trucks have IFTA stickers on them? I noticed Wal Mart’s electric fleet that they use in the Bay Area has them.

There’s a calculation they have to do to pay the road tax since they’re not buying fuel.

even electric cars are getting fee increases because gooberment has lost tax money from reduced fuel usage.

    same is for trucks.

just now it’s not called fuel tax anymore it’s road use for EV’s

I think it was probably a good idea to dodge the question of price. These guys might know, they might not, but the bigger thing is that the price of one of these is not 'the price'. Like their 'flagship' customer Pepsi, or whatever they are calling Pepsi, they are essentially building privately funded power stations to charge these things.

You can't go off the price of the vehicle on an electric truck. The real money spent is on the infrastructure. It's so 180 opposite of diesel trucking. And it's going to take many years to break even on that. But somebody taking one for the team is how it has to be for stuff like this to make it. I applaud Pepsi for that. Perhaps maybe someday they'll make a decent soft drink too.

Hard enough to square in your head and your budget what your life would be like with a Tesla car in the driveway of a private residence. Power bill goes up but you gain SO much in savings, no more fluids, no more tune ups, no more oil changes, no more lost time and money in car repairs as we know them, no more gas stops. Imagine the money equivalent of time saved not having to fuel up, especially an electric truck?

POS, I'll buy several used trucks and make money with them vs owning one of these ugly POS and charging it every 300 miles, if you don't use a/c and other power accessories.

EVs are a cart before the horse.
The total weight of the Tesla Semi seems to be about 27,000 plus tires and other parts, which could put it around 30,000 total miles.
That's the dumbest statement I've read today.
