It was mentioned above but if you attend a school that is associated with a local community college or if the local community college has the course themselves then you can qualify for student loans and not make a payment for six months after you complete the course. By then you should be driving and out of the company training and on your own before you need to pay it back.
As to paying it off in a year sure why not? If you are pulling down 40-50k, and don't have many other financial obligations just pay it off and put it behind you and keep driving.Chi Town Steers Thanks this. -
I am interested to find out if that first week is indeed for classroom time, I scheduled a visit for tomorrow. They did say when I called that a requirement to start was to have the permit already so I am hoping there is little classroom time, supposed to be 3 weeks, or 16 days of mainly "seat" time. I will know more tomorrow, thanks for the good advice!

Interesting theory, how did it pan out for them?

I could do it in Chicago no problem but I have to wait about 6-8 weeks to get there. What is super cheap?

Thanks for the reply, any idea how long training lasts, how long until I can go solo?

From the website:
"Once the four weeks of classroom, obstacle course, and road training are completed and you have passed your CDL test, you will be ready to start earning money while you complete the required over the road training, getting you ready to then step up to your own truck and solidify your life long career."
"wcherron" is a OTR road trainer there; send him a message. Theres several threads on this company and they're all positive. One new driver posted he made $55K his first year after going through their school.
