There's several posts about them; seems the biggest complaint is sitting for hours at meat packing plants waiting to load or unload. They have a big contract with Tyson Foods. Recently purchased FFE(Frozen Food Express). If you want refrigerated trucking look at TWT on the trans-system website.

Yeahhhhh, nahh. Haven't met too many happy drivers there. Lots of options!! Keep researching!!

Judging by the trash that crawls out of their trucks, yea you can do much better. You'll never meet a happy KLLM driver so that should tell you something.

Living in Cottage Grove I would give TWT a look but it might be hard when you take time off cause you would most likely have to park the truck in Tacoma and drive home from there but don't quote me on that

There are lots of happy KLLM drivers. I drive for the company, so I should know. I admit that right now I am not one of the happy ones, but some of that is because I came from FFE and I'm getting used to the differences. I make good money with KLLM. I can't deny that. My biggest complaint is the absolute lack of communication regarding loads and the fact that they seem to avoid giving drivers preplans.
Check out their website. They have a $5000 sign-on bonus for new drivers who lease. Their lease is very affordable and at the end of the term you can buy the truck for $1.
If you live in OR, getting home might be a problem. I'm not sure, but that's what I would check on first.Calregon Thanks this. -

Wait, don't do that cause I probably posted it and forgot. Hehehehee
I drive for KLLM, it will be three years in march. I hear lease stories of guys making good money and basically getting their (used) truck for free. And other stories of drivers going weeks and months with no income after payments. Worse stories that if you are from jackson MS area and, how should I put it PC correctly... well you get the idea, then you get the good loads.
I am a company driver doing Chicago intermodal support and am home every night. Never had a truck over three years old. If it has a problem breakdown authorizes the repair 24/7. Telling dispatch I need to stop running to get the repair is a different story. Rail support is Salary pay. M-F and extra for weekends. But it is hard to get into and you have to be in a major rail area.
They also had the best tuition reimbursement rate. $150 a month and after a year the rest (up to $4500 IIRC) paid out at the end of the year. Taxed of course.
OTR they pay on Per Diem basis, which is not preferred by those more knowledgeable here. I am straight pay.
Feel free to PM me with any other questions you have.

I will be going to the Atlanta orientation on Jan 14th. This will be my first trucking job. My brother has been driving for KLLM for over 3 years and has alot of good things to say about them. Hopefully I will like KLLM as well. I will be posting my experience on here as I go through the orientation. It seems most people only post gripes on here. Does anyone have anything nice to say about KLLM?
