One of many examples of me incorporating a real life experience into these tales.
Back when I went to Alberta, Canada, there was a small motel in Montana that provided just such a service.
I think it was $20 to leave your piece with the guy. Small price to pay to avoid getting busted in Canada.
And Ted's really did exist. Great place to eat. Sad to say. it's no longer in business.

Thank-you again. It is still in progress.
Now you need to look a little further down for "Shark Killer", the first Ricky story.

You have a wonderful story-telling ability. I especially liked the colorfully detailed descriptions of Joan and Jolene; and the period music from the 80's. Sets the mood and brings my black and white memories of that time back to Turner Classic color! Great job keep it up.

Maybe look into self publishing on Amazon or something?

    MUSTANGGT Thanks this.

A long hot shower has a way of making one forget their problems. Temporarily anyway.
I stayed longer than usual, primarily to give Darlene some privacy while she talked to Betty on the room phone.
After turning off the shower, I heard a woman with a southern accent saying "Kiss my grits". It was wasn't Darlene, however.
It was Flo giving Mel some lip on the sitcom "Alice".
Darlene wasn't watching Alice though. She was sleeping soundly.
She looked relaxed and peaceful. Hopefully a sign that her phone call had gone well.
Looking at the phone made me think of Luanne. I went as far as pulling the card out of my wallet with her home number on the back.
No, better not. I'll call on the business line monday from LA. Still trying to figure out Darlene anyway.
I feel callous for even thinking it, but she seems tainted now. Not from being with Animal, but for believing what he said about me.
But that doesn't make her bad. It only makes her naive. And she is clearly humbled and apologetic now.
But I can't help the way I see her now. It may not be right, but it's the way I feel.
That could change. Who knows. But for now, she is safe with me and I will get her home safely.
