The operations manager, Joe, told me they are looking for a city driver. And their website lists a driver job opening.

jungledrums Thanks this. -
have you heard anything from Saia? I have not read through all of the posts. The best thing that I have noticed our TM's like is face to face talks with people showing initiative and drive to get these positions. If you need contact info let me know specifically what terminal and I will get it to you.
BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
I called the terminal manager yesterday to check on it...he said he is still waiting on my background but on his side everything is good to go!
Said the whole company is hiring all over so the HR department is probably behind

BOOM just heard back!!! Wants me to come back in!!! Told him it will be next week and he said that was fine!!! Assuming im going for my diving test, physical and drug test!!!

I talked to a City Driver for Saia yesterday. They're starting to pop up everywhere in the Northeast. They have some nice, brand new red Tractors and white Trailers. He mentioned that they top out around $29 an hour at his barn and OT after 45 hours for P&D. Forgot to ask how much they make on Linehaul, but that MIGHT make them the highest paid LTL outfit out there, right along with UPSF. Only complaints he had about the job was the cameras in the Tractors, but other than that, he seems REALLY happy with the job.

Top out for line haul will be 64 cents a mile when they get their raise this year

Talked to a friend in South Carolina, his best friend works at Saia. He's fairly happy, but the driver facing cameras are a huge hassle. No drinking, eating, changing the radio station, talking on the phone (hands-free or not), nothing but drive.

Its not that strict....except for the talking on the phone....i talked to the TM about all that
