If you have the necessary skill sets to manage your business and are doing so, ATBS is simply a redundant out of pocket expense. ... If you don't have the skill set or want to leave the management of your business up to ATBS, they will gladly take your money and assist you in becoming a former O/O ... And I did use them, fired them after 90 days.

I use them, but I've always used a tax professional. I got out of the Marines in April of 1990 but in February of 1991 I was recalled to active duty. I jammed down to a local CPA and asked to have my taxes fastracked and finished within the day as I didn't know when I would be back. Those were heady and emotional days before deployment, everyone I knew was pressing cash into my hands and tearful goodluck's and goodbye's.Three weeks later the war was over, people were buying me free meals in the restaurants and free drinks at the local watering hole, my uncle the Vietnam vet was in shock as he was not treated this way when he came back from the war, but I digress....
I came into trucking after losing both my houses and my pickup truck to the down economy. I'm working my way back up out of the rubble, and cheated a little bit by cashing out a trust fund and paying off my truck. So my tax situation is very complicated and ATBS has been able to sift through it and keep me out of trouble. I'm set up on a payment plan with the IRS and state and this April 15 actually owe zero taxes and projected to owe zero taxes next April 15. In fact my business has operated at a net loss in the thousands of dollars which I can carry forward two years for the day when the truck depreciation expires and I would then be getting hammered on taxes, these net losses can be applied to that year (April 15 2015), after which if I still have the truck would be making investments in auxillary power unit, possibly super single tires and rims, bling bling seats and accoutrements etc. So with ATBS's help I have a little breathing room not having the IRS on my back and have a chance to pay them off. -
I have a CPA that charges me a lot less than ATBS, and alot easier to deal with. In fact, she takes care of me all year, and only charges me $200 for the whole year, and she is great. She knows her stuff since her husband owns a small fleet and a couple of members in her family our O/O, so she will keep up on all that is going on.

My Husband is thinking about doing the lease with swift, can anybody tell me more about this he has talked to people but gets mixed feelings on it, any info that would be helpful for him would love to hear!

Thanks for all of your answers guys. Jenn you need to tell your husband to go into any swift O/o L/o recruiter and pick up a copy of the IEL lease agreement and swifts sub-contractor agreements and tell him to start reading up on it. Opinions always will vary on here for any company but at the end of the day the decision and the name on the contracts will be his so it is very important he take the time to do this much on his own. Good Luck!
