The one the salesman points to and says “ that one is carb compliant”.

2023 carrier and newer have EGR and are carb compliant. Don’t run TK so I don’t know about them.

The Carrier X4 7300, 7500 and Vector 8500, 8600MT and 8611MT are CARB compliant for seven years from the year of manufacture, but can be made compliant forever by installing a Carrier EES (Engine Emission System) filter kit.

The Carrier X4 7700 is CARB compliant forever.

The ThermoKing S600 and S700 Precedent series are CARB compliant forever.

The ThermoKing C600 Precedent is compliant for seven years from the year of manufacture.

Do they even check if the reefer unit is carb compliant?

    Yes and No

Starting in 2024, facilities depending on sq footage, will be required to keep a record of Carriers, their DOT and ARB numbers that pickup or deliver to their facility.

I see older reefer units on trailers all the time when I’m in California.

I’ve only been asked at Americold for my DOT and ARB number, when I picked up a load.

They gave me a clipboard and asked me to write in the information myself.

I could’ve written anything down, as they didn’t check and I don’t think they cared, it’s just more trying to make a buck nonsense from Commiefornia.

If you are still looking let me know. Thanks Mark
