It was windy as crap coming thru ND today. Lots of blowing snow...that kind of blowing snow that makes you dizzy because you feel like you're going sideways. I chose to go over to Bismarck and then up US83 to Minot because US52 out of Jamestown is a lot narrower and the ND road conditions page showed icy sections, and I only have 2 2000 lb pallets to deliver. The interstate was fine after you got out of the Fargo city crew's jurisdiction. And US83 was slick until you got out of Bismarck's city plow crew zone. A little patchy ice here and there, but manageable. But with only 4k in the box, that wind was wicked. Now it's gonna be -11 to -15 tonite, with wind chills in the -30's...bleeping brrrrrrrr.

Like Oor said.... small tight place. They will load you early if they have product and a door open. They will send you down to the Walmart to wait if they can't load early and call you when they are ready for you.
    Very nice people...
Heavy load and the nearest scale is down 540 several miles. If you go back out to I-40 there is a State scale in both directions before a Cat Scale...

Woke up this morning at an I29S rest stop to a DOT officer weighing trucks with a portable scale. I got my pretrip done and left before he got to me. I'm not sure if he was doing all the trucks. But he was doing the truck next to me, a few spots down. I made sure to emphasize checking everything, just in case he was observing my pretrip.

Now I'm at a flying j in OK. When i stopped at the pump i noticed a significant amount of water dripping inside my cab. Coming from above me. A lot by the passenger side window and some right above my cb. I'm thinking maybe it's frozen condensation that is now thawing out now that I'm not in the Frigid North. But it's still 29 degrees so I'm not positive.

Also my mpg is showing 6.8. I'm so sick of managing my tire pressure. I had to get a tire repaired recently, so i thought my tire pressure issues were behind me. Maybe it's something else. I'm stopping at a loves in a bit too get the pressure checked out... again. I can't check my inner drive tires myself because my hand is to big :(

Despite these little things, it sure is nice to be back in the road again!

Man I hate it when DOT sets up in rest areas, and they complain about us not using them...

Fuel economy sucks in the winter, good idea to always keep an eye on pressures - remember you can have them checked at CR and Fargo and the TirePass at Loves is only $5, a really good deal actually. Glad to hear you are back running

Between winter fuel, the cold air and the wind... everyone's fuel mileage sucks, don't sweat it...

Common in these trucks. It's your frozen condensation from breathing up between the head liner and outer shell melting off as the sun hits it. As long as it doesn't short out the spot lights above the doors, no big deal.

Everything above the Ohio river is now on #1 winter blend diesel. Lower gel point, also lower mpg. Fill up down south if you can. #2 diesel is available in the Fargo yard.

Good to see you. Hope all's well.

Got a lot going on and trying not to cause too much drama (which I'm really good at!)

Been to Fargo more times in the past two months than I have in the past year.

Got a job offer from a friend back in the oilfield, so my days are probably short here.

The downside is I really enjoy it here though and have made some good friends!
