Is the trip you're dropping in CR a load going to Newnan? And a trip that ends ####753? If so, I thank you for picking up my home load...Nick gave me a trailer number, but if you're switching with another driver, and if it is my load, could you PM me the trailer number please?

Taking a load from Lima, OH to Clackamas, OR. They didn't give me enough time to get it there before the appointment. Tried to reschedule it for the next day. They said they're closing Thursday evening early and not opening Friday due to Christmas. Now it's a race to get up and be rolling after 10 hrs to try and make it prior to them closing.

Also trying to get by the house, clean out the truck, make it back to Fargo by the 1st of the month and beat @supersnackbar out the door and catch my plane!

Only difference is I really enjoy it here and enjoyed meeting, talking, and working with all my fellow Magnumites!

Clackamas, just did that one recently. There's some parking on the street behind it if you're up on hours. Owner was a nice guy, might let you stay on site too. Let me park it in the door before delivering.

Well, St. Nick waved his magic dispatch wand and I will make it home. When I got to my shipper in Grand Rapids Monday, they were closed. Came back Tuesday morning and they were confused by my arrival. Seems no one told them I was coming to pick up. But, they found the load info and had me out of there in under an hour. I got to drop it at CR, took my break and @DustMyBroom will be bringing me the best Christmas gift...my load home...

Hope everyone has a good Christmas. Me, my wife and my mother-in-law will be on the road. No, that's not a movie title, or a broadway musical...my MIL has hired me to chauffeur her to Ohio to see her family, so, Christmas day, we will be heading north. Hopefully this next ice/snow/blah storm will let me make it up there before it hits.

Have a safe Christmas, @supersnackbar .... glad your getting home.

I made it down to Charlotte NC on Monday afternoon for my Tuesday drops.
My first drop screwed the pooch and took 5 hrs to get to me with 2 pallets for them.
My second drop was in Hickory. Made it just before the lumpers went home and they got me done quick.
But my third stop rescheduled to Wednesday...which makes it impossible to get to my 4th stop till tomorrow... Thursday. At least I'm close to home and I'll still be a day early from what I requested.
Gotta give dispatch props. They somehow pull it off every year and get 3/4 of the drivers home for Christmas. An amazing feat even if from our narrow perspective we feel screwed when we get home 2 days early or a day later than we asked for...
    Good Job Dispatch!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Happy Holidays no matter what you Celebrate!!

One thing positive I can say about Magnum, they didn't hesitate to allow me to take my time off over Christmas. When I was a Creten, they put a limit on time off around the end of the year holidays simply because they had customers that wanted their freight no matter what day it was, and they needed drivers to deliver. There, the only way you got more than Christmas day off was to set up vacation time, and then they put a limit on the number of drivers doing that...here, they were willing to allow me to get home the Monday before Christmas and stay home until after the new year. But I only had 1 week of vacation, and I was trying to avoid losing a weeks pay this time of year, so Nick worked it out so I could run some before heading home. For which I am grateful.

It feels odd getting holidays off. Driving 8 years for a beer distributer that's when we were busiest.

If I have a bunch of empty pallets stacked in my trailer now, what do I do with them? Can I just leave them in there? There's 2 stacks of 10 pallets neatly stacked at the nose.
