So I picked up my load. They told me ahead of time it was gonna be heavy and asked if it was alright before they started loading... sure, whatever.
I could either go 50 miles in the wrong direction to scale, or there is a scale 150 miles on my route, but there is a scalehouse just 2 miles before it. I decided to stick to my route.
I used the gauge built into the dash to balance my load as good as I could, getting the needle just barely to the left of being straight up. That's as good as I could do with no numbers to work with.
I get to the scale house. It's open. I'm given the Red light to pull in. Great. I'm weighed in motion and pulled into the scale to stop and get an accurate weight. Just great... here comes my first ticket... I stop on the scale (complete stop). There are like 4 people in there. I'm nervous. But they give me the green light. I'm good to go. I must be good. W00t w00t!
I get to Pilot and weigh:
Steers: 11,400
Drives: 32,460
Tandems: 35,720
Total: 79,580
So... what the hell are they doing at the scale House? Lol -

Never mind, your last post appeard right after I asked -
So I got to wondering about why they let me through the waystation. This happened on I 40 between Raleigh and Greensboro in North Carolina. I looked up the laws for North Carolina. Turns out they allow up to 38,000 pounds on your tandems. Learned something new today.
