Got real lucky last night... (no, not talking about THAT lucky). This load started like my typical load, as in "wrong info". My load, according to the broker and Magnum, was suppose to pick up in Auburndale FL at 2115. Now to be fair, it's a broker load, so Magnum's load info probably came from the broker...so I won't blame Fargo....this time. I get to the shipper at 2030, hoping to get loaded a little early. The guard tells me that my load isn't scheduled until 2215, and I can't arrive more than an hour early and I have to find someplace to wait.(Coke subsidiary juice plant). He suggested the Polk City Love's.(yeah right, like I am going to find a spot there at 20:30) So I cruise around and park at a lake side 'car space' section near downtown. Show back up 1 hour early, get loaded, and head back to the Love's to scale. By this time of night, I am beat. I was up till midnite the night before getting most of my crap in my truck organized and moved out. Then got up to help my wife at 5 am load her stuff for her Farmer's Market gig, so I am tired. I wanted to get back to north FL before quitting for the night, but after I didn't get loaded as early as I had originally planned, I knew I wasn't going to make that. And parking at home with this load is out of the question, it's a 33 deg continous load. I pull in the Love's to scale and try to decide where I should try to get to (and here is the LUCKY part)...and there was 1 available paking spot. I felt like that blind squirrel that found a bag of shelled peanuts.

But make #### sure you have a current year atlas EVERY year.
GPS is a tool that it great at getting you in trouble.
I swear an atlas should be a yearly reimbursed expense. And not those crappy paper ones but the good laminated ones.Zata40 and Crusader66 Thank this. -
And in other news. Something good, my daughter and her 2 friends were offered full music scholarships from the school they went to last year.

That awkward moment when you're waiting for your load plan to be sent over peoplenet, but your NEXT load preplan comes in before you even get to see the current load.
