Man when you first came here I know I sent you a PM offering to help and you basically told me you had it...when rookies are getting over 10K per month average then yeah it's got to be you dude...this just ain't a good fit.

You have been leaving for like ever...pull the cord as we used to say in the Navy and punch out. Find a new place that fits who you are...or what the heck go to SWIFT and help them train some half way decent drivers, you'd make more money right

 

I don't train...period. Have never, will never.

As far as rookies making it...some do...some don't. Over the last couple months I have spoken to several Magnum-trained drivers and a good number of drivers that had been here less than a year. Some of the experienced drivers were doing pretty good, several were kinda making due (was before the election so they blamed their sub-par numbers on the 'wait and see' that freight goes thru around election time), but several were doing similar to me. One in particular, was an older driver than us...probably has more miles than most on here, that thought this company was the biggest joke...more critical than me. And was having far more screwed up problems with loads and equipment than me as well. One of the "trained" drivers I recently talked to is almost ready to bail.. I doubt this driver lasts a year with all the bull#### Chad and the gang were dumping on them. So, sorry...hate to rain on the parade...but not as many drivers are as content as the members post on here.

 

Well god bless us all to live where choice is still available. If enough people vote with there two feet then a message will be sent, and feel free to rain, I have always maintained that this is not a good fit for everyone.

To truly help others where should one look if they aren't a good fit here? Marten? J. R. Schugel? I agree many people can deal with micromanagement, I'm not one of them so my choices aren't as limitless as some.

I was speaking with a lease driver here a few weeks ago who was giving me the speal on all the runs he wouldn't make and the ways the company screwed him. Of course when I asked why he hadn't left he said where else did he have the flexibility offered here.

Back to you, leave turn your truck in and move on, at this point you are likely loosing dosh anyway. Or stay heck, your actually kind of fun in an odd boil sort of way...

 

I was planning to be gone by the end of March, but someone in my past is slow about returning my work history, so processing my app took longer then it should...and please...before you ask where...don't.

I'm a new driver at Magnum and I'm doing 11,400 and 8mgm over my first 2 months here. They give me loads and let me plan them as I see fit. Layovers and detention pay given with no issue. They give us really nice equipment to run and don't micromanage us. I don't see any issues about getting miles at Magnum unless you go home all the time. I came from CR England and after dealing with how they treat drivers, Magnum is like working for family. To say Swift or any trainer company like that would be a step up from Magnum means you truly have not been paying attention to how this industry works. By the way, there are drivers up here with really good advice that I've talked with and they help up if you are willing to listen to them. I have and it's paying off so far for me. Just food for thought.

 

Got my stats.

Not very many miles, didn't have to worry about fuel mileage, didn't have to worry about detention, didn't have to worry about getting miles..... Got a raise!

Still miss being at Magnum and my friends. My change was definitely worth it though.

 

In my opinion, Magnum is very rookie-friendly. It's a chance for those of us with no or little experience to work hard and get paid well without needing all the experience to make great pay, while also being treated like responsible adults.

Your performance pay points will tell you exactly why you're not getting the pay you want. Instead of arguing about what you got, try thinking "what can I do different to improve this number?"

Positive mental attitude. That's the key.

 

You boys haven't been paying attention....I've said this before, and this will be my last time saying it as a Magnum driver. You only succeed here IF they want you to. If THEY want you to leave, THEY starve you. I have heard it from former drivers, I have heard it from current drivers and I have heard it from current non-drivers. Apparently I pissed someone off early on and I guess I am slow at taking a hint to leave...but it's all water under the bridge at this point. As far as the positive attitude making a difference...well...you can have the most mild mannered dog imaginable, but if you keep kicking it...sooner or later it turns around and bites you every time it can. As far as going home too much...I have been home 5 days in 2017...yes, that's right...5 days in 3 months. I was out 323 days in 2016 and was allowed to turn 116k miles.

 

Well SSB, this "boy" has been paying attention. You've sure had some rough spots and #####ed and whined about them (can't and won't blame you). Now as of late you've been getting miles and seemed pleased until management put up the new figures. Talk with Chad (again) and see if there is anything he can/ will do for you. I'd actually like for you to stay around if it'd work out, the folks reading this forum need to see both sides of the coin. Plus I've met you and found were a pretty #### nice guy (better than the gruff SSB that everybody sees on here)! As I've told you time and again....Good Luck Sir.
