I get it when over 24 hrs too... but it usually has to be when it has extra days. Just ask, if yes, say thanks. If no, politely say, well, doesn't hurt to ask. Certain dispatchers are more generous than others.....

I always understood layover pay as 24 hour periods where you are not on a load. I've been kindly given layover for loads with more days than drive time required before. But that's a bonus!

! There are a few (lots if they tell the truth) that love running real early in the morning. Anyway, I enjoy my job and the company overall ain't too bad. No one company is perfect.....
