I need more than a couple days off. That's why I try to run 3.5 weeks and off 3.5 days. Poly's hometime beat about every other company I have ever worked for. As long as you turned a minimum 8000 miles a month, you could take, if I remember right, 5 or 7 days...not counting holidays and weekends. So, if you timed it right with a Monday holiday, you could get home on Friday, 2 day weekend, then your 5 days off, then a 3 day weekend. But, with all the unpaid downtime from breakdowns, I could never afford that much.

One of the great things about Magnum is their home time policy. I stay out 3 to 4 weeks and then take off anywhere from 5 to 7 days. I took 10 days off last Christmas…

As long as you know the rules going in and they don't change one can pick the best situation for their needs. One of the things that keeps me here is our hometime policy.

Now I can't afford as much time off as some, but knowing I can take off the amount of time I want with a 10 day notice is a real bonus, and as @Xeres63 said, at max pay and with good miles it's a pretty good balance.

That's why I'm here. I don't do it often but maybe every 2 or 3 months, I want 4 or 5 days off. I've been reading back on the thread and it seems that like it or not, 34hr resets are a frequent thing. So, just like ya make hay while the sun is shining, make lemonade out of those lemons and enjoy the resets whenever you can. Hopefully they are taken somewhere that makes it worth it, right.

Just checked into the motel here in Fargo and not really hungry so might just do Popeye's tonight. I'll check out breakfast in the morning here and if I don't care for it, IHOP's is just across the street. C'ya!

Not to count the chickens before they hatch....... but by the end of tomorrow, I'll have 3900 miles in the last 8 days...
I only have 3 hrs coming back Tuesday.... so just enough to deliver in University Park, IL and find parking. Then reload on Wednesday going up to the Cities....
