So I'm learning that Tony was right when he said it would probably be best to just do a fly through the home 20 at Clarksville TN. Loads to and from GA seem to have either too much time between del and pick up or n the case of this run, the deadhead between Newnan GA and Albertville AL was pretty much all US routes and took over 3 hours to make 130 miles. Is that the norm for GA loads? So far so good, like you all say it'll be several weeks to learn where the good lanes are. The breakdowns and other hiccups I've had haven't helped my 70 but that's all part of it. Will take my 10 while at sturtevant after del at 0400 and see what Joey comes up with. For those gong through KY, TN the next few days, Harvey (or what's left of it) is headed that way so watch for heavy rain and the slow traffic that goes with it. C'ya!

Not sure if you've ever tried them, or if you're a donut eater, but the donut shop inside the Petro by where you're delivering in Sturtevant has ths 2nd best donuts (2nd only to the Petro up in Clearwater MN).

Got a note saying they no longer allow parking on site at Mclane in Concord, NC. Is that just for after delivery?

Yea, after you deliver only. I got there at 1300 a couple weeks ago and waited till they opened the gates at 2200.

Don't know why I didn't realize the holiday was upcoming & go home... Unload tonight in Aberdeen, then load Friday for a TUESDAY delivery in Chicago!! 4 days to run 700-sum miles. And if like last time, umpteen phone calls & emails trying to get a layover day approved. 4 layover days in August; averaging 3.5 layovers a month and 2383 paid miles/wk. Hard to maximize mileage when you unwillingly sit a lot! Then comes the cheerleading email saying thank you & get ready for the busy season. SMH And, whatever happened to the driver of the month? Did anything ever come of all those surveys and tele-conferences? I'm told they hired (transferred) 4 more people to set up a DM system, but nobody in the office claims to know any plans. And, whoever came up with these automatics ought to be... Nevermind. Whining session over. Carry on.

Change takes time hear...to much time lol. They are transitioning, but it's not done (planning) and therefore nobody's talking about it which I agree is frustrating.

PACCAR (Eaton) has come up with a 12 Automated transmission to complete with Freightliner and Volvo, our new trucks will feature them which are a darn sight better than the current offerings...hopefully :). PM me if you haven't lost my number and I'd be glad to try and help with any questions on the current PIA auto system.

I like to squeeze in resets as much as possible. Sometimes it feels like I sit a lot. But I still logged 12,552 GPS miles in August.

Just delivered in McComb, OH. Oh, the smell of brownies/cake mix in the air! Also just drop and hooked in Napoleon. Now I'm headed to Hopkins, MN for an early drop. Then picking up a preloaded trailer right after that in Long Prairie going to Wilmington, DE. I hit the jackpot this weekend!

Don't blink, or you may miss me!

    Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
