as a former FL driver for Magnum, I would reload out of middle GA mostly. They did have me load out of Lakeland a time or two, including one that went to MT. There is a good number of cold storage locations around Jacksonville, not sure why they didn't use them...maybe freight rates were too low, but it is harvest season, lots of produce to keep the produce haulers busy, so maybe there are some decent paying frozen loads around.

I have a load picking up in the Fargo area on Saturday morning and headed to the Atlanta area after this cookout. I should be able to pick up my 1576 truck in the way out there. I was enjoying being lazy too much to ask for a quick load to Coon Rapids and back to get my truck yesterday.

    Now for a friendly suggestion...

We should all collectively make attempts to attend orientations so we can share info with each other. Sometimes they (office staff) "talk " about things amongst themselves about future happenings, but there is no official decision to announce to us. But in the mix of things, it gets mentioned at orientation, and we all feel left out when we heat about it second hand. We can keep each other in the mix by attending orientation, talking to some new hires, etc. It helps everyone out. Plus, personally for me, it sure is nice hearing some things for a second time in orientation. First time was a blur. Hearing it again is like "ooooh Yeah! I remember them saying that! I forgot about that!" I know some of us have already been doing this. But collectively we can keep each other in the loop if we all do it once in a while. If each of us goes once per year, we could pass a pretty steady flow of info to each other, along with meeting new drivers. I just stumbled in here and started posting on here whenever I heard something new and interesting. Nothing complicated. :)

    Ok, carry on. :)

Up here in Fargo and I've met a lively bunch of drivers. First time actually having a in person convo with most of the dispatch team and putting a face to the voice.

Booked on a load going to Ohio for a Monday delivery and then up in the air after that....home time is soon though.

Oh attended that seminar on the cameras, not bad. Thanks @Winnyf1 for clarifying a lot of stuff and Kris K goes into a lot of detail about them and why we are going to them, who's in the review process and such and so on and so on.

Yeah it's the rates, I have done a few FL loads and on one occasion they really looked for a good paying load out, but ended up deadheading me to GA for a Hazmat load to ND.

We may sometime in the future see more FL loads depending on how much additional business we gain from a couple of key customers, but at this point it's not a strong lane for Magnum.

Well I spoke too soon, shipper decided they weren't sending out any product until Monday. Joey couldn't find me anything with such short notice so I'm stuck in (ItsNotA)Tomah for the weekend. Still going to Orlando, just not loading until Monday. Seems there's a movie theater across the street, maybe I'll see what's playing.

Well, was planning on spending the wkend here at Fargo. Original load was pickup Mon for NC Thur...just a phone call on it y'day. Then get another call just after noon...that load "canceled"...now I'm picking up in Grand Forks Mon going to Little Rock for Friday morning...1170miles total. No other info or dispatch...nada. but I did get an awesome steak and I'm already insuring with Geico...so there is some good news. Hopefully I can get info when dispatch gets in in the morning....then I'll head to the forks and visit with a friend up there if I'm still headed that way. That's not going to do my monthly miles very good...so far 5380 on the hub. They can only go up from there, right?

You're not doing to bad, remember it takes a few months to learn the lanes....driving the truck is a given, but as you're learning there are lots of little tricks to being successful here. Hang in there.
