The 4th was a absolutely waste for me. Delivered in Bismarck in the morning on the 3rd. Then reloaded in Fargo with a 260 mile load to Hudson for the 6th. “That’s all we have” I was told. I will not stay out over any holiday after that.

See what happens when you become trucker? You get pissed nobody else wants to work every day of the year.
I was kept running over Thanksgiving last year. It really is hit or miss (usually miss), depending on where you are. Not really Magnum's fault nobody wants to load or unload a truck on a holiday.
My advice, pick the holidays that are important to you and take them off. The ones you don't care about, work around them as best you can.
I'm taking Thanksgiving off this year. Mostly because I'll be running out of food and clean laundry by then anyway. Don't really care about turkey, would rather have a good steak.Last edited: Nov 4, 2017
Winnyf1, WalterSobchak, War Wagon and 4 others Thank this. -
I work most holidays because the only ones I really care about are Thansgiving and Christmas. I came back out right after Christmas last year and worked through New Years and had a decent run. But for the most part, there seems to be little incentive in staying out for holidays here. -
WalterSobchak and Lowlite Thank this.
