Last week I had 3 loads that were assigned to me with not enough time to get there. I told the DM and they said it was ok, get there as soon as you can. I get there and get held 4 and 5 hours past detention but they deny my detention pay because I was late. Has this happened to anyone else? I like it here but I'm not about to let them continue screw me over like this. 3 loads totaling 7 hours.

Lowlite Thanks this.

If I'm doing my best to get there in time, managing my hours, only taking necessary breaks and not wasting any time (45 min or 11 hour breaks), maintained communication and it was literally impossible for me to make it in time legally, then id call the ops manager and make my case.

My issue is I raised the issue as soon as they gave me these loads. DM even called and asked about my detention request afterwards and told me "they" would probrably not pay my dentention even though the fault was not mine. WTF is the policy in place for if you won't follow it. One more time and they can have the truck back. I won't allow them to deny me my rightful pay. (I'm never late without good cause; i.e. accident, weather, breakdown, etc)

Not to derail, but quick question... we get bonuses for the 3 levels of DOT inspections right if nothing is found? I went through my papers but couldnt find anything on it or how much per level. Not sure if I missed it or was misinformed.

So I'm stuck here at the Ramada Inn just outside Fremont, Indiana with my truck sitting at the KW shop in Fremont. (Behind the Petro).
After going into derate on Sunday I had to wait until Monday morning to get my truck in the shop.
Apparently it was more than just bad def.
The check engine light that I've had our shop look at 3 times and been told " It's just a sensor, we cleared it, just drive it" has not been just a sensor.
They pulled the harness from the manifold and it was full of oil. Great.
Now they can't get it to clear out of derate. They are waiting on the Paccar people to fix this on their end somehow. I dunno.
In the meantime my load of PPG paint is still sitting there at the shop. My dm still hasn't sent anyone to pick it up after I mentioned it to him twice.
It's a protect from freezing load. Reefer set to 60 degrees by PPG. It hasn't had fuel put in it for 4 days now. And I just don't care anymore.
I have called the KW shop, Paul in our shop, and my dispatch every day to update them.
This is no longer my problem or concern.
Every since I have gotten my DM it has been some sort of bull crap or another. I'm either sitting for hours, or having runs so tight I can't even stop for a quick shower. I have been running weird hours and by the time I shut down I'm having to stay in a rest area or sleep on a ramp. Because again my runs are so tight I can't stop once I get loaded. And I have been sitting anywhere between 6 and 8 hours at shippers or receivers. Then I have like 3 hours to get to my next shipper who will be 2 hours and 40 minutes away, and that's if there are no traffic issues. Then if I get a load and can't make it on time when I call my DM and explain why he wants to try to math it out. Mathing #### out doesn't work out here. Traffic and weather is traffic and weather. It's a truck not a time machine. So he finally agreed to call and let them know I will be late. Does he reschedule me? Of course not, I show up late, shipper or receivers is pissed because nobody actually contacted them or he sent an email nobody saw. Then I'm pushed to the back as a work in and it all just keeps repeating.
This is getting really old really fast. My happy meter is getting dangerously into the red. -
Winnyf1 Thanks this.

Hang in there dude! Don't let the suck take over. This is where I clean and/or reorganize my truck and give myself a chance to start fresh tomorrow.
