I have to admit I am falling into that trap too. I drive up over Donner Pass to Crockett, get a load of sugar at C&H and then drive back across Donner to the Walmart DC in McCarran every day.

But when there isn't a choice of loads, you are in direct competition with every other driver coming into that zone. Otherwise you wouldn't get advice like

Plus you have to be on the planner's buddy list, otherwise you get crappy loads offered. I did exactly what everyone here advised, and I averaged under 9000 miles a month for the entire 18 months I was there...probably because I refused to suck up and kneel down at the alter of the Almighty Gadberrys.

It’s best to just leave those in the past. You’re in a much better place now.

A road is a road in my book. All I care about is money, and when you can make 70-100k, home daily and weekends off, I'll run the same lane if thats what I got to do. I just got world I'm going back into line haul. Waiting for my transfer papers to toledo.

For the newbies, track your weekly mileage and if it’s not meeting your goals speak up and get it fixed! I certainly didn’t get 11K+ my first few months there, as a matter of fact I had to call into Chad after only getting 7K in a month with no hometime!

It is your responsibility to manage your destiny, right now trucking jobs are plentiful so if Magnum or any other company can not meet your needs (assuming they are realistic) research your next company choose a good one and move on.

OK @ncmickey I know horse beaten...

It’s horses for courses, some enjoy doing what you do, heck fools like @supersnackbar and I enjoy hauling equipment onto our trailers and helping load our own trucks...as long as you are financially whole and enjoying your job celebrate the differences.

Now back to Magnum stuff, how are the transmissions doing in the 19’s, did Peterbilt get the bugs fixed?

Took 30k miles for mine to give. Since getting this truck back, I've put about 11k on it. Give me a few months to see if I can pass the 30k mark again without any problems.

Made it just past Minneapolis before I needed to stop for my 30, decided to hit the TA for something to eat.

I appreciate all the help you folks have given. I’m trying to not just complain all the time. This morning I put in my home time request for the first week of March. I’ll chalk these first couple weeks as time spent adjusting, so I’ll run all of February and see how it goes.
