I was surprised.
San Antonio actually has sky scrapers!
And Waco has a spaghetti bowl! Oh I’m impressed! Last time I was in Waco. They rolled up the sidewalks at 5pm. It’s where they’ve always had all state championships. Cause it’s centered in the state.

I'm pretty jealous of you being in TX right now. At this point, I'd offer up a whole farm to be sacrificed if it would put an end to winter.
WesternPlains and mitrucker Thank this. -

That’s one thing I’ve always loved about living in the Black Hills. Weather always changing. If we get below zero there. People just smile and say: Just wait a couple days. ... Sure enough. Within 4 or 5 days. We’d see 40 or 50 degrees again.
... That’s one thing I’m loving on this job. Driving away from winter for a while.
I really like constant change.
Today’s driving was seriously good for me. Going through “home” in Houston. Tons of memories. Got one person in Houston. Would love, one of these times. To stop and buy her and her husband dinner. I’ve known her since she was 5 years old. I was 4. ...Then I10 through Louisiana. At 18, I worked marine electronics. Much time over i10 between Houston and New Orleans. Practically lived in Orange Texas for 6 months. 2ship installs at Levingston, in Orange. A Chinese restaurant in Orange I’d love to stop at. It was my favorite back then.
Now hoping for a run to Brownsville. Tx. Worked on a couple jack up oil rigs at LaTourneau there. Worked Corpus Christi.
Just tons of good memories from my old stomping grounds. People I’d like to visit with over dinner. Could tell you a ton.
Oh and I had never before driven i10, from Katy, through downtown, out to Baytown. I did this morning.
BTW: one of those ships I did in Orange. It was the Glomar Atlantic. Global Drilling. Look it up on the internet. Very interesting. Global was owned by and a front for the CIA.Last edited: Feb 14, 2019
