That stinks. I'm not surprised though. When they kicked a bunch of junky trucks out of the pilot on 52 and made stockmans paid parking they started showing up over there. That was one of my favorite spots in the twin cities area to take my 10.

Sitting up in Fargo at the Holiday Inn. The first day of orientation is in the books! We have a good class of 5 drivers, and all of us have driven before. Mark, our instructor, also seems like a good guy. Tomorrow we go out for the road test.

The other four guys in the class will probably be heading out soon because they all have recent experience. As for myself, since I haven't driven a truck for 8 years, I'm going in as a "trainee" which would normally mean I'll have to spend four weeks with a trainer. If that happens, I'll be OK, but I'm really hoping that I'll be able to knock off the rust quickly and maybe I can get started on my own a little quicker. I'm thinking a couple weeks with the trainer should be sufficient. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Overall, the experience seems to be going great and I'm really liking what I've seen of Magnum so far!

Anyone been to Reinhart Foodservice near New Orleans? Picking up a trailer tomorrow from Gaylord heading there. Read the reviews on Google and that reciever seems to be a crapshoot. Maybe i should've taken the offer to OKC. I could've at least swung by the house, if only for half a day.

I've never been to that facility but I just looked at my notes/records that I keep (in case there's payroll issues or whatever). And when I first started with Magnum they sent me to Sysco Foods in New Orleans, then I picked up a new load in Madisonville, LA and delivered to Seattle Washington. Then they had me pick up a new load in Chelan, Washington and I delivered in Mebane, NC. It was at the start of Novemeber last year too, so same time period as now.

I normally don't ever go to or through AL, MS or LA though and that's the only time I did it with this company. So I don't know if what I did was the norm or if I just got lucky with those great long runs?

But if what I did out of LA is the norm, then you might have gotten yourself a hell of a run these next two weeks despite whatever BS awaits you at the receiver.

That's what i heard from a couple guys i talked to in the drivers lounge last night. Apparently there's a sweet potato load going to WA from LA that's sitting in the yard here in Coon Rapids because the driver broke down. I've been wanting to go back out west for months so that might be my ticket once i get to Louisiana. But i also know with my luck I'll probably get sent to Jersey or something, which is perfectly fine, but that's usually how it works for me.

Is it tough to get loads going out west? I was thinking that you normally get your choice between 2-3 different options when you are heading out of Fargo or Coon Rapids. Haven't you been up to the north country for a while, or have you just been getting unlucky when you get up here? If that's the case, I hope your luck changes.
