My stopping spot by the strip mall in south Plaunfield is now a carpool lot. Was looking forward that to go eat dinner. Oh well I'm inside customer yard now waiting for tomorrow's unload and reload right here.

 

Yeah I really don't miss my old Garmin based system, the new Co-Pilot is easier to live with for us cheepies who don't want to buy a portable unit.

In my 14 I actually ended up replacing the system when the darn thing froze up.

I'll try that. I tried to use the computer in CR Drivers Lounge and it didn't recognize it... I've tried about 3 different laptops too... None recognize it...

 

This is how bad the it has gotten for the Braves now. Thier radio announcers just said if he didn't catch it, it would have been a hit.
Another one Braves in field best thing about that play was how the umpires rotated to make a call.

 

Anyone else hanging out in this thunderstorm in the Columbus, OH area? Pretty intense! The weather station on the cb says "flash flooding will occur... Seek high ground. Act quickly to protect your life." wtf? I'm not IN Columbus but about an hour away. It's chiming down pretty hard here.

 

Sitting here in Concord for a Mclane delivery and found a nice spot in a shopping area to shut down for the night, almost went into a food coma from all the choices around here. On a side note I wanted to get y'alls opinion on miles. This month and last month hasn't been that great for miles. This month I'm going to close out with 9300 and some change, last month was about the same. I'm thinking my home time has affected this, I have been going home in the middle of the month as that was 30 days out for me these past two months. Do you all go home in the beginning or end of the month? I'm not really mad about it as my pay checks have been pretty much the same and to me I'm making great money but I want my miles to at least be at 10k for performance pay. I go home for 4 days each 30 day period. Just seems odd to me as my first month out solo I did 11k and the following month I did 10k.

 

I typicall go home in the middle of the third week of the month so I have some time left to get miles before the month ends.

It helps if you understand what may be available when you come out so you get or can string together decent miles, same for going in. Your hometime dispatcher can help you on the load side, can make a big difference.

 

It also depends on where home is. I have tried various times of the month, early in a pay period, late in a pay period and spread across 2 pay periods so that neither one takes the full home time hit...nothing helps. But I blame that in part on living in FL...freight sucks there. This last home time I was cutting it short so I could try to get two decent months back to back. My 5 day home time (after 6 weeks out) turned into an 8 day home time because Jeremy couldn't find an acceptable paying load since we rely on brokers for my "out of the house" load. End result, another sub-9000 mile month. I guess the only way I could make it here is run 350 days straight, then take 2 weeks off at the end of the year. Price ya' pay for living in paradise I guess. Of course if I did that, I would only get to keep 1/2 of my pay because my wife would leave and would get the other 1/2.

 

I live outside of Atlanta, but it's funny there always seems to be freight going into that area while I'm out but getting something for home time seems to be an issue. I'm hoping next month I will be able to pick the load up that I deliver at the shipper instead of swapping with someone.
