You just need to buy a better radio (and antenna!!!) so you'll be too far away for them to see what you are. I used my radio the whole time I was at Swift.

I have a CB, I don’t listen most of the time, but if weather gets bad or Google Maps shows trouble ahead, I fire it up. It’s been very helpful a few times.

I agree. I lost interest after the 2nd paragraph.booley, Dave_in_AZ, bzinger and 2 others Thank this.

I'm reading again today, still parked waiting for the roads north of me to open. Dispatch asked how I was doing. Fine, I said, just waiting for the roads to open.
I really wish there was a shower nearby, though. I can smell myself. That's always a bad sign.Bakerman, Dave_in_AZ, Moon_beam and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why not PC to another Truck Stop somewhere nearby?FerrissWheel and Bud A. Thank this.

The nearest truck stop is about 120 miles away in Rawlins, and both the Flying Hook and the TA have been full up for two full days. And anyway, the road between here and there is closed. I don't know why, it looks OK to me. Maybe it's really windy, though.
Dave_in_AZ, FerrissWheel and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Just use the snow to wash off. lol
Dave_in_AZ and Bud A. Thank this. -
Thats one forsaken, frozen, wasteland to be stranded in during a major closure like this... Hope you're good on fuel, food, and water.Dave_in_AZ, FerrissWheel and Bud A. Thank this.

This part of my route isn't closed, but it looks a little worse to me, especially since I only have half a load left. Wind and ice are a bad combination.
You may think I'm crazy or stupid, but I'd drive this road if I had a full load in the box, partly because there's not much traffic on it. Half a load, nope, winds are reported at 20 to 30 mph with 45 mph gusts. You can't just shut down every time there's a little snow and ice, though.
blairandgretchen, Dave_in_AZ, FerrissWheel and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm at a Walmart in northern Colorado, trying to get up to Riverton. It's sunny and they have a great deli inside and the people in this town are real nice. But if I weren't, I always have at least two weeks' worth of food and water on the truck.blairandgretchen, Dave_in_AZ, FerrissWheel and 1 other person Thank this.
