Aside from the emissions stuff the 4th Gen Rams were probably the best overall. Lots of guys hauling RV's or hotshot run those up over 500k without much trouble.

Just relocate all facilities out of US.
Loss of jobs, parts manufacturing, more jobs, transportation, more jobs, therefore all the taxes, moved to somewhere who appreciates business and economic growth.
China, the world's biggest emitter of carbon dioxide, produces 12.7 billion metric tons of emissions annually. That dwarfs U.S. emissions, currently about 5.9 billion tons annually. That air is still air.
Same as mexico, that invisible line doesn’t stop the clean air at the border.
That’s why we lost Cat engines, all the jobs, manufacturing, steel makers, hose makers, radiator, all has a trickle down effect.W923, mitmaks, thatsright and 4 others Thank this. -
My guess the fines are cheaper than the R&D and the cost savings cummin kept.
If they really want to prevent stuff like this from happening make Cummins forfeit stock options to the US tax payer/deficit, and hold the C-suite executives accountable.

So basically the government set an unrealistic goal and manufactures decided, #### it! We can’t meet what they want in X amount of time so let’s cheat the system. Shouldn’t that be a big red flag to the government? I mean there’s no denying that an engine that is post emissions will never last as long as those built pre emissions. Not only that but they are less fuel efficient! So at what point does they government say hey maybe we are doing more harm then good!!

I have often wondered if boneheads like John Kerry have ever looked at a cloud, and then wondered how much of the earth it has passed over…..jamespmack, JoeyJunk and Vampire Thank this. -
EZ bought 4 new 2014 2500 Cummins pickups. Quad cab, 4x4, 8’ bed. Trucks were fitted with new contractors toppers with doors on both sides along with the rear.
These trucks had coil spring suspension in the rear. By 85,000 miles 3 of the trucks started experiencing road walking. The wire nuts ( electricians ) carried over 1000 lbs of tools at all times, along with spools of wire.
The biggest relief to the road walking was new shocks, and a heavier sway bar in the rear. Other than that they were pretty good trucks.
The Ford F250 / 350 trucks were good trucks as well, but after 770 miles every Sunday and Friday I could hardly walk straight went I got out of the truck. The 1999 F350 left me setting twice in Tennessee, once for a turbo and once for an alternator. Liked that truck, 7.3 / 6 spd. Personal comfort was best in the 2015 Silverado HD2500 with Duramax after 700 to 870 mile days…. -
As long as pockets are being lined, common sense will not be used….Gearjammin' Penguin, Ruthless, W923 and 4 others Thank this.
