My 4 Month Review of Schuster

It’s all relative, I guess. To me, no driver facing cameras, open fueling at the major chains, and free routing, with the option to opt out of running to a less desirable area of the country is pretty lenient for a 6 month experience required OTR company.

At one point, you said Le Mars was a ghost town lol. Compared to the Chicago skyline in your picture, it absolutely is. Heyl being headquartered in Akron, IA makes Le Mars seem like a thriving metro area though we’re in and out of Sioux City more often than Le Mars anyways.

I mean, they have a Walmart, a Love’s, and a few decent food options, Verizon store, etc. And Sioux City has a decent bit themselves. Pretty cool part about being a little ways in the boonies is there’s pretty much 3 hours guaranteed of no traffic regardless of direction you’re headed. And if you’re headed west, you have dang near two days without any traffic concerns, besides weather delays. Snowed for the first 6 hours of my drive last night leaving Le Mars and there wasn’t a single car in a ditch.

Anyways, at this point I’m just rambling. But in all sincerity, understandable if they weren’t a good fit for you @GoLowes48. Feel free to share your opinions on here. I’m not here to recruit, and certainly not offended over someone’s opinion of a company I don’t own lol, but you’re going to have a much more unbiased discussion if you create a thread in the report a bad trucking company section. If anything, most people would be excited to see it lol. Everyone’s tired of the same obvious 1099 scammer situations in the bad company section. Most people, and myself included, would be intrigued to see a bad company review on a company that most OTR drivers are familiar with, or at least have seen around.

 

Another 13,000+ mile month of super truckin’. In Kansas City now after a run to/from western NY. The snow and cold are losing their luster in a hurry. Needless to say, the truck has seen a lot of salt and brine.

 

Indiana was a s***show yesterday. They had the salt shakers rocking all night and there were still like 6 different wrecks from Greenfield to the IL state line. All minor, but still no idea how it happened on 98% clear roads lol. Was on 71/70 through Ohio and didn’t see much winter weather action, luckily.
