Id be fine with always parking my reefer along a curb like I am tonight, or somewhere a little out of the way from the rows of other trucks.
But lets face it, the curbs fill up with dry vans, flats, and other quiets. So thats not an option most of the time.
If the quiets left the curbs open for reefers, the rows would be more peaceful. Wont happen, though.
If I can spare a quiet truck from my noise, I will. Also reduces chances someone will shut it off in the middle of the night.

BS, our X4s and Vector are very quiet.
The biggest problem is loose belts on reefers, noise and vibration makers.... with them tight it's a huge different but yano so many people don't do proper maintenance.
If you can see that belt shaking when the covers are open and it's running it needs tightened. It should run nice and smooth.TallJoe, UsualSuspect and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -

I'd bet that when it's running and you look at the belts they are shaking.... If they aren't tight you will make all the vibration you're talking about.... When they are snugged up correctly it is so much smoother and quieter... It's so simple to adjust toobigkev1115 and Farmerbob1 Thank this.

To each their own, I hope I never have to touch a carrier again. The new ones are noisier, the way they "slowly" step up to that noisy fast idle , whether it's defrost or not, always wakes me up.
With a thermo king I barely notice it's there.Snailexpress and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
It was a rescued load, I had very little time to make delivery. Once I got empty and back to yard, they tightened the belt, and man what a difference lolKB3MMX, Farmerbob1 and 650cat425 Thank this.

That's just untrue .. Unless you're pulling units with lack of maintenance.
My 7300x4 units are very quiet and smooth and the vector unit is the quietest reefer I've ever heard bar none.
Matter of fact it's on continuous right now and you can't even hear it running in the bunk, have to look out the curtain to see green.Farmerbob1 and bigkev1115 Thank this. -
Slide me $30k and I’ll buy a brand new unit so you dry-van guys can get some better sleep lol. I at least try to park opposite of people with my loud beast that actually helps me sleep throughout the night.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
