How cheap was those 2300 watt generators? And were they inverter generators?

They don't have an online catalog.

I"m considering that option. I"m liking that bluetooth app.

    Harborfreight has a 2000 with 10% off for $450.

I've got a sportsman, I think it is, coming from home depot for $170 but it's only 1000.

I do ac for people that can't afford. Specially with shops wanting $100 just to hook up gauges. So, my only real use is to have electricity at the park. Should i need to use my vacuum pump. As much as I'd really prefer 2000+. I can't justify spending more money.

I've even considered a battery with a inverter for portable power but i don't know if it would last through the event. I don't want to use my car. The battery is in the trunk and the car is only 2 years old. I don't want to risk frying the electronics of the car.

BAsically I"m just looking for something small, portable, lightweight. And cheap.

I pretty much did the exact same thing. I ditched the Honda because of a small gas capacity. Ran out after 6 hours.

Went with a $400 Champion 4000W, with a 4 gallon tank- mounted it half way down the trailer, zip tied an extension cord up to the front of the trailer, and one into the cab. Ran a standup AC unit.

Generator was noisier than the Honda, but half way down the trailer it didn’t bother nobody.

    Ouch.

I was skeptical of the Champion but it ran pretty good.

I’ve got a gen set with roof top air now - but if I went back to a shorter truck again I’d do the generator deal again.

I just don’t like idling an engine - it’s not good for them IMO.

It does get hot - but the symptoms of that is it shuts itself down (via tripping)

I noted that when I built a "water proof" using plastic bin from Walmart.

The blue-tooth app has been awesome in monitoring fuel level, load level & reset (while cruising down the road). No need to stop, and turn it on again, while my DOT clock is ticking....lol

As far as portable, slap a bucket of ice down put a computer fan across there running off your snipped cig lighter that is rewired to accept the two bares from the fan.

There is no inverter alive that can crank a common window sized walmart air conditioner. I don't know what will be required to step out from 12 volt to 120 volt to 240 volt and then add in a load of sufficient watts, amps while dispersing the heat generation and maintaining integrity of the whole transformer step up.

If it is one mistake we made in our lives once related to window portable a/c it is taking them to have fixed by the nice A/C man. I think we paid 120 for one new and it died in 9 weeks. When we paid the final bill with it working it was almost 400.
