Im buying my first ever truck in the next 2-3 months from now.
Does anyone think this might be a bad idea, as far as the recession goes.
Cause if the US goes into a recession again it will be cause of trucking companies and the fmcsa doing what they want with us like a new toy.
By the way i plan on buying a
pre emissions truck im firm on that.
Just need some comments on the whole situtation.
Thanks guys and keep on trucking.

I started in a fairly dead market in 2015, with a solid plan and a pre emissions truck.
Haven’t looked back, and I’m prepared for things to go either way next year.
Keep safe. -
The dow went up 1000 points today The ceos are mad because some one else didn't make the economy grow.
Just bust your butt and work.
Leave the people who don't create or build stuff. Who sit in offices worry

Recession REALLY hurt people that accumulate too much debt. Start off with more capital that way when business does turn sour you can outlive some other guys.

As long as big corporations set the market, the possibility of recession always exist. I say that because our country's leaders often times create policies that accommodate them, as opposed to the working class, the bulk of the country. That said, every driver that posted before me gave you sound advice. Listen to them
Rideandrepair and JR28262 Thank this. -
I say no debt where possible.
Then find freight people have need of. I remember running Medicines and Narcotics with McKesson out of Memphis, it matters not what the nation did in the big finance, boom or bust, people still get sick and need medicine in hospitals like I did recently.
Find that kind of freight. And your loads will roll on just like any other day barring another 9-11. (9-11 McKesson Stuffed our trailer until it cubed out and sent us to Linfield Connecticut that handles medicine for the east coast. We were there the night of 9-13 in the morning. It was the one time that we were not loaded with the usual cardboard bales going back to memphis.
Steady wins the race. Always. Our Nation defaulted 4 times in our history and frankly in at least two of them world wars were our salvation. So.. that's something else to consider.fordconvert, Rideandrepair, JR28262 and 1 other person Thank this. -
A recession isn't gonna happen because of the FMCSA or trucking companies....recessions happen in cycles. The one coming is partially because the economy expanded rapidly and the Fed is raising interest rates to keep inflation in check, and they are doing it more than people expect (and more than the stock market wants). And the sheeple in the general population who base their spending habits on the yo-yo stock market indexes are getting worried and spending less and slowing the economy some. The others here are right, eliminate debt, build a cash cushion large enough to survive the biggest recession imaginable and you'll be fine.
x1Heavy, Rideandrepair and JR28262 Thank this.
