Here’s the latest issue we have at our terminal.

    We’ve ran out of parking.

They’ve hired so many half-drivers that by the time the late starters roll in they have no other choice but to park in the grass and on or next to the curb islands.

If somebody would grow a spine and get rid of the lazy do-nothings and hire competent drivers instead we’d have probably 30-40% less cars in the lot.

P&D scrubs who don't fuel their trucks at the end of the day and don't scrub the bugs off the windshield are as useless as a three legged dog that was adopted for $2.

what's the safest weight the company allows you guys to move with a pallet jack ? cause i got into with guy about loading a tote . i told him " assist or i leave " i told him " imagine if they made you load and unload trucks all day with only a pallet jack and no forklift " my lift gate would go down cause of dock lock so i had to extend gate and bump dock then roll tote inside trailer.....

i'm not sure but if its heavy your coming in to assist cause i'm not about to hurt myself totes, tile, bulk bag, tall pallets of food mainly anything over 1,200 lbs

Here they leave it up to the driver.

Normal size skids like totes don’t bother me. Just pull it sideways first to break the inertia.

Heavy AND oversize on the other hand is a different story.

I just delivered a 2400# skid of flooring with a liftgate that has a 5* upward slope. No problemo if you know how to use momentum, inertia and leverage.

Best trick I learned is actually from someone on here a number of years ago.

Tailgate heavy freight on your prior stop, and if there are multiple pallets that are super heavy, then diagonally zig-zag the freight up the trailer if you are going up a slope. You can build quite a bit of momentum this way instead of forcing the freight straight up to the back of the trailer.

#2400 is the most I will do. Our pallet jacks are only rated for #2500.

I’ve moved almost 4k on 1 skid with a pallet jack before, but I had to put every bit of my big ### into that

The most I did was 3.5k at Reddaway, but we had nicer Crown and Hyster jacks. The few company jacks that Holland provides are made by Clark. Complete garbage jacks. Anything over 2k will gradually bend the handle if you are pushing up a slope. I just finished building my second pallet jack out of spare parts from jacks that my coworkers destroyed this year. The one I build looks brand new because the equipment we bought only lasted four or five months. My TM is all but fed up with us not taking care of our equipment. But to be fair, that brand is probably meant for warehousing and grocery/retail store use. These IBC totes are just too much for them.
