The problem is a lot of them use the linehaul trucks and leave them empty for when we come in to do our runs.

if EVERYONE fueled their trucks at the end of their run, it wouldn’t be an issue.

I’m glad I’m the only one that drives mine. I get fuel twice a week and DEF once.

Not sure. But someone took the time to put four of them together and sent out a driver with these placards. DoT would have had a field day had he been caught.

Managed to use up 62 hours in 5 days this week. Monday started off easy enough, with a sweet 500+ mile meet. Then Tuesday I ended up with a 575+ mile hub-turn, which wasn’t bad at first. But I kept running it for the rest of the week, and every day they held me at the hub later and later. Got back to the yard with less than 5 minutes left on my 14 this morning.

The delay pay looks nice on my checks, but sometimes I wish I could trade it to get home faster.

a bad day in LTL is still better than a good day otr.

i do my best to work <8 hrs a day. i usually fall in somewhere 38-42 hr a week (5 days). i bid a 500 mile relay that i can turn without a break, despite 220 miles of it being 2 lane rural highways. i bid short on friday and usually get it (6.5 hr day). i can't complain 1 bit. they can have the 10+ hour days. yes the money is better, but it's well beyond the point of diminishing returns. idk what they're making, as i don't care to do the math, but im making plenty.

Got a trailer in my yard that came from Memphis probably went through two-three different Linehaul drivers hands. Placards not flipped paper work stapled shut. Quality drivers. Lol.
