He must report to Terminal manager ever night via email, and TM does a report daily to “big trucking”.

Some runs don’t require to pull doubles. Might get empty/loaded pup or 53ft.

Well, in my case that is 10 hours a month that they are docking me. If that is OT, its $360 which is my power and water bill for that month. I understand getting home and all, and occasionally I will also forfeit the extra pay. But that's a lot of money the company is saving each year because they dock you anyway. There used to be a time where everyone would fill out a time adjustment form where you can check the "no lunch" box. But now everyone is supposedly mandated for their 30 minutes.

BTW, I always take my lunch break at the end of my shift after I am done dropping and picking up freight. I also do this somewhere that has a much needed restroom where I can wash all the grime off of my hands and face before I get home. But that's just me.

I run a set schedule and usually see many of the same drivers. I rarely see a single pup, on I-70, across Indiana. I’ve seen a bunch, this week.

It ain't just you. That mandatory lunch was recently made hard and fast policy.
The LTL honchos must have had a conversation at their most recent golf getaway.

Have to do that sometimes or I'll miss a pickup or two.

I always take my lunch they take it out of my check. If i finish early they just find more crap for me to do anyway. N o going home early, or at least it feels that way a lot..

At least your outfit doesn’t seem to have Fedexitis and you don’t have them demanding that you take it in the middle of the day so you wind up not getting all your work done.

I've been with them for four years. I've never been talked to about HOS issues. All hell will boil over if I have returns or miss a pickup. So I just take my breaks at the end of the day.

Was assigned to a twin screw tractor the other day because I had to bring a rail on my shuttle run. Dash and cruise said I was doing 65 but I was easily passing 66 mph trucks. So I ended up using a mph app on my phone to check my actual speed and I was doing 69-70 in this tractor. It was nice to easily get around 63 mph trucks! Also shaved 15 mins off my return trip. If only I could bid the hot rod twin screw lol!

Would definitely be nice to drive once in a while, but I'd stay far away from that truck on a bid. No plausible deniability when you're blowing by everyone every day. Only a matter of time before someone snitches or notices your impossible run times.

    Mike2633 and Digman943 Thank this.
