So I'm in an interesting boat same as @raod_runner kind of maybe. May 10th I have it in writing is my first day at my new job as soon as I can break the news to ABF I will. It's nothing against ABF it just wasn't the correct job for me is all. Although the sad part is I've been at ABF just barely long enough now to where I am starting to get the hang of it and they are sending me overnight more and more. Anyhow that's not the point, my family isn't real hip with the ABF road schedule and were not spending 10 years waiting around for a bid run, plus the drive to work is just to far that's an entire other story. I thought it would work when I hired on at ABF, but sometimes things don't always go as we would have imagined them to in our head and on paper and you don't know what it's like till you actually live it.
That being said it was nice of ABF to give me a shot, thanks, but no thanks. ABF just isn't for me. The job at ABF wasn't bad per-say now there are somethings I don't like about ABF not going to get into that now, over all the company ABF is ran pretty well I think management there does a good job, there's a couple things that could be done better, but over all as far as keeping you moving and stuff they do a pretty decent job.
Anyhow my boss back at Gordon Food Service called me up and I have maybe a rare opportunity if I choose to go back there. There is some bad blood between me and some people mainly the shop at Gordon's, but there's not actually bad blood between me and management per-say. A driver at my yard got fired and it was a legitimate firing and that opened up a spot at my old yard which I ran night transit out of. All my old co-workers there want me back very badly. The schedule at Gordons is better right now then my new job and the two jobs pay about the same all things considered, but Gordons and I have some serious fences to mend so to speak. I just don't know if I care to go back there. You know as Sade said "It's never as good as the first time."Digman943 Thanks this. -
