I commute 109 miles every day for the past 10 years. It is what you make of it the evening is my time to decompress before getting home to Mrs cardfan and the little fans. The morning on the other hand stinks.

I’m trading in my blue tractor for a red one.

After 6-years Cooper burnt me out.

Averitt terminal manager got the OK from corporate to pay me hourly to drive an hour south to Uline every night. Once I arrive at Uline I’ll be their personal yardboy, and they’ll have a 53 loaded for me to drive back into town.

All hourly, which is great. When I did Linehaul I always felt cheated when I would do like Orlando because the traffic always made me make less than a P&D driver if you broke it down hourly.

I’ve been feeling the same way about my job after 5 years here.

Congrats on the new gig! It’s not easy to step away and start anew.

Seen that done more than once where the TM wants to get the last word in. You aren't leaving on your terms, you are leaving on his.

It's about as petty as they can make it. My best advice to anyone reading this is to sell your vacation and PTO early and not say anything. Don't brag about it to your colleagues and just keep a poker face until it's time to go. I once told my gaining employer that I would accept the position if they allowed me to put in my two weeks first, with a caveat that I could be available much earlier; depending how things went at my old job.

you can give them your blood, sweat and tears, and like XPO did to me, they’ll give you a boot in the ### on the way out.

    Yeah, it’s a shame.

You try to be professional, and these large companies aren’t professional back.

it’s like when I try to use a pto day with over a months notice for say a doctors appointment, and you have to call out instead because they won’t approve the pto day.

anywho imma take the break in between I need it.

You know what? You did the right thing. You are leaving with your head high and your integrity and professionalism intact.

Enjoy some time off. It's well deserved to get your thoughts cleared out.

Not a rant but….. Cross Country is going to sponser myself and another driver from the Fargo barn in the ND Special Olympics Convoy on October 5th. We have both drive in these multiple times in years past, so we take it as an honor that they are doing this.

I asked XPO to sponsor me in last years, and was flat out told no. So this another reason to like CCFS.

…And then turn around and suspend you for that while those who benefit from the bigotry of low expectations can continue to call out 5 minutes before their punch times because one of their pals who starts earlier told them what their run was like.
