So, Yay me. This morning I accepted an P&D/linehaul/P&D three day run with my company, dedicated to a regular customer of ours. We already do a TON of work with them. This is just more gravy work for us. As long as we can keep them happy.

I'll do P&D, return load and start the line haul to another state on day one. Unload/ reload and head back to customer on day two. Then do P&D on day three with a 4 day weekend. Until we see how busy this tour is going to be and IF i want to return to 5 days a week.

Sounds like a good deal if the money’s right.

Does the linehaul load consist of a lot of this customer’s freight?

    Exclusively theirs.
One stop and return to their dock.

The money is already right. My wife is an RN, so I just need a job. To basically keep me out of her hair.

So today I saw something I've never seen before. I was at a stop and another driver was there and he was unloading 60 gallon barrels of pickles. He was getting ready to slide another 60 gallon of pickles down the ramp and the ramp broke the metal fatigued on the ramp and broke in half. The part of the ramp at the top where the ramp hooks to the truck just broke in and the 60 gallon barrel of pickles fell off the truck and landed on it's side and broke open. I never saw so many pickles and pickle brine all over the place. I could smell the pickle brine from 40 yards away. I've never seen a ramp break like that either. At least the guy wasn't on the ramp when it broke he could have fallen and gotten hurt.

    McUzi Thanks this.
