Yeah, no thank you. This is my first winter without having to deal with chaining up and running those passes while my butt is clenching the seat cushion.
I ran across Homestake Pass and back each day when I ran P&D in Butte MT. I actually got good and comfortable with it when I was doing it. Looking back though, I wonder how I kept everything on the road.
Stay safe out there.

It’s always fun when those crazy ##* tanker drivers pass you on Loveland during a snowstorm.

Most comfortable I ever felt on snow was on 8 inches of fresh powder pulling a heavy Rocky Set. 42k+ long box and a ≥15k pup.
I threw on a single rail on my passenger side and off I went . 60 mph all the way home when I ran linehaul . You got all that weight squatting your tires down, digging into the snowpack. The chain I ran was just to assist with braking.
Some advice.. slide your fifth wheel forward as far as clearance in the back allows. When I worked at Reddaway, we used to slide our fifth wheels all the way to the front. That would give our steer axles another 1k of weight thus giving us better control.Mike2633, LoneCowboy, misterG and 2 others Thank this. -

As I filled up my U boat full of kitchen supplies going inside the nursing home, I thought to myself, did I become a foodservice driver or am I still LTL? Lol. At least it’s only 2 trips.
Bob Dobalina, jmz and Mike2633 Thank this. -
#### man today everyone bought heavy crap and almost no one had a forklift. Oh, and my first lsfy bought three pallets of flooring and as soon as I pull into the HOA I see a huge sign "no semi trucks" I call the company and before the office girl can even answer I get bum rushed by security.
How the hell did the home owner not know about no trailers in her HOA when I saw the huge ### sign
Anywhoo 3rd party problem nowmisterG Thanks this. -
Then I have a pick up that wants to wait for me, and I told dispatch I'm on the other side of town and have cabinetry on 10ft skids I'm probably gonna have to hand unload so if I get to him it's gonna be after 5pm.
We'll, it's 530ish and supervisor asks me about the pickup, and I'm like I would prefer a reschedule as I still have to hand unload, and he's on the other side of town so he's like "yeah man don't worry about it" I get back to the terminal (35min drive) and the dock phone just won't stop ringing supervisors like "that's your buddy he won't stop calling".
Freaking people man... If it's 630 obviously let's get it tomorrow
I honestly think supervisor just want to kick linehaul guys out on time so it doesn't screw us for friday
