This isn't personal ... but the gods may trying to tell you to seek another line of work or at least a new truck.

My '15 has straight up been an awesome hard workin truck. Other than one hiccup a few days ago, never been broke down. I wouldn't trade her in for a new truck.

Mines been great it's just the same ####ty sensor over and over and the dealer in Salt lake City Utah said they are crap. It fails, then shorts, and it takes down everything on it's line randomly. Including the MCM.

    MachoCyclone Thanks this.

My first truck was sensor glitchy ... not as bad as yours. The problems were generally fixed at first go. After the 3rd one I had enough ... In my previous life in telecom we did what was called a class "A" for a glitchy circuit. You go through the entire circuit, disconnect, clean and reconnect every connection.

Had the service manager do essentially that on all my sensors. Then did it once a year after that ... no more glitchy problems. After that, if I got a code, the sensor was actually bad or actually had a problem. Troubleshoot and repair the problem in one visit.

Pretty sure that's what they are doing now. They saw all the problems with the electrical and all the codes.

I wonder if that driver's 5th wheel release handle is like mine. What will happen is I will pull it out to release the kingpin then pull forward. The release handle is spring loaded and has a notch in it so I pull it out just a little extra and lock it out against the notch then pull the tractor forward. What I noticed is by that action, the release handle jumps off the notch and retracts a couple inches. This will make it not hook up or maybe hook only halfway across the jaws orsomething. What I have been doing is after every drop I get back and and make sure the handle is pulled all the way and locked out.

I spoke with one other JCT driver with the same make model 5th wheel, his did the same thing so I think maybe it is either a design flaw or a purpose by design to force the driver to check things before the next hook.
